Daily Socratic

Privacy Policy

What we collect, and what we don't.

In short: your email address, if you give it to us, plus anonymous, aggregate site analytics. We never share, sell, or rent your email to anyone.

Last updated 14 August 2026

What we collect

The only personal data Daily Socratic collects is the email address you give us when you subscribe to the newsletter. We do not collect names, phone numbers, payment details, location data, browsing history, or any other personal information.

What we don't collect

How we use your email

Your email address is used solely to send you the Daily Socratic newsletter and, where relevant, essential service messages (for example, confirming a subscription or unsubscribe request). We do not use it for anything else.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics and sets cookies to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used (for example, which pages are visited and how often). This tells us how the site is performing; it does not tell us who you are, and it is entirely separate from your email address, which Google Analytics never sees. You can control or block these cookies through your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles this data.

Sharing your data

We do not share, sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your email address to any third party, for any reason, at any time. Your email stays with us. Aggregate, non-identifying analytics data is processed by Google as described above.

Storage and security

Subscriber emails are stored securely in our database and are only accessible to the people who run Daily Socratic. We take reasonable technical measures to protect this data from unauthorized access.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your email is deactivated and is not used to send further newsletters.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every newsletter email, or by contacting us directly. You can also ask us to delete your email address from our records entirely, and we will do so.

Children's privacy

Daily Socratic is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the date above. We will not change our core commitment: we do not share your email with anyone.
